Now that i have downloaded Archnd.lha what commands must i type at CLi to make use of it.and when i download ascii files do i have to decompress them using a different decompressor/archer?

Download the file LHA138.RUN. It is a self-extracting utility that will give you everything you need for LHA compression/decompression.
