Would someone please enlighten me: How is the STONED Virus transferred?
Can it be part of a picture file, for example, or must the carrier be an
executeable file?

My copy of STONED infected my machine because it was in the boot sector of
the floppy disk that I got from "someone." My PRIMARY mistake was leaving
it in Drive A: when I booted up my computer. It loaded itself from the
boot sector that way.
I've heard from many people since that leaving a floppy in your boot disk
drive is the most common way people get infected with this sh*t.
