One good thing is that because of Draco, all this work on the Z3 is to their
advantage. BTW, I received today a disk from Noahji's with some docs and a
beta of RetinaEMU 2.4, which I'm using now, with no ill effects. It's a minor
bug fix for some people with problems with Amiga screens opened from the EMU.
At least it's an excellent vital sign, even if in a small area.
BTW, CyberGFX doesn't chew chip memory – it chews up fast RAM like a hungry
lumberjack … Well, at least there are options for increasing that.

Yahh…. but I wonder how many apps they really expect people to use on the
DraCo. After all, it's really just a fast VLab Motion box.
I got the same stuff–wrote a post about it–but the beta RetinaEmu didn't
solve my native Amiga video problem and actually gave me a new problem with a
disappearing pointer, so I went back to 2.3.
I didn't notice that about Cybergraphics–didn't play with it long enough I
guess. Why do you suppose it uses so much fast RAM?

What do you mean?
Regardless, I ought to register it now so that when blitter support comes I'll
be ready… except then what if they never add blitter support? Guess I'm just
too suspicious a bugger.

for screen bitmaps?

I meant that no amount of money will buy you more than 2MB of chip memory,
whereas you can stuff 128MB, maybe more, of fast memory. Options 🙂
Let's hope the blitter version is nice and clean.

Ahh, gotcha. Well, hopefully my 16MB will be enough, and hopefully, as you
say, the blitter version will be clean. I imagine that the Cybergraphics
drivers could conceivable be faster under some circumstances than UU's Retina
direct driver, since that's only 8bit and Cybergraphics will let you choose
fewer bitplanes.

Paul: Just thought I would let you know that I've got a CyberVision-64 on
order. The Cyber-64 with 4MB is about $600 and the US distributor is Softwood.
It will probably be 4-5 weeks for delivery since Softwood does a batch order
directly from Germany.
