The Microsoft interface isn't bad, but the products are definetly not bug-free.
Pagination has always been a problem on both Mac and PC versions (when reports
get large, translations are so-so (RTF still seems to be the most reliable
format), line feeding (two lines of text printed in the same area), or the
document body encroaching into the footer are a few. We use the term
"microshafted."
Geez, I must have the luck of the Irish or something. I haven't had any
significant problems with Word or Excel.

Actually, Paul, I've had no trouble with the Flyer – it just wasn't designed
to do what I want to do.

You haven't had stuttering problems then?

Only one instance of stutter and I determined that it could have been
responsible for using a part of the first second of a clip – which NewTek
specifically warns against.

As long as the documents are not large, and don't have many tables, styles,
embedded objects, multiline headers & footers, etc, problems are scarce. Our
standard reports are 25–100 pages and have all of the above. Picture
placeholders are very buggy. I believe it's when one tries to use all those
many features that Word gets confused.
Well, that's probably why I haven't run into any problems with Word: I don't
work on documents like you describe. Guess I'm lucky – or a man of few words.

You probably don't try to use it like the DTP program it's trying to become,
but as the word processor it should be 🙂

Agreed.

Sometimes even *one* may make it crash. We had a problem printing *one* page
that made extensive use of the tab-leaders!
