#TGAs to Tape

So once you have rendered all your stuff to TGA files, how do you get it on to
tape? I understand that you can render direct to tape, but I want to keep the
files around. Do you run those TGA though Video Post and a VTR controller?
Also, is the animation controller just software or is it another board as
well? The reason I ask is because I know someone who has VTRs and and Alladin
system but doesn't know if he can record sequencial TGA files. I have 3dS but I
don't have an NTSC compatible video card or an animation controller (if that is
a card too).

It is a seperate add-on board.

Put your TGA's on some sort of magnetic or optical media and send it to a
"Rendering Service", of which several have uploaded files about themselves.
Simply search the libraries using the key words "rendering service". Or, you
can buy a VTR, a NTSC video card, and the animation controller card and do it
yourself. Or you can buy a PAR (Personal Animation Controller), which consists
of a NTSC video card and vtr controller card all in one (the simple
definition<g>). You can obtain more info on these simply by asking here on the
forum.

I know somebody who has an Aladin, which I guess also has a frame buffer, and
a VTR. Is there some way I can put the .TGAs on his machine and transver them
to video? OR is there a way I can hook up my PC to his and get this done?
Also, I am not quite familiar with the PAR. It sounds like I still need to
have a VTR$$$. Is there any advantage to having the Frame Buffer and the
controler on the same card as you described?
I am pretty sure I want to at least get a frame buffer, anyway. How do I go
about deciding which one to get. I looked for a product line description for
Truevision in the multiven forum but only found one on the T2000.
