#Mesh Distortion
4 messages in this thread
I have been experimenting with 3d Studio for some time now. One
problem I am unable to overcome are meshes which become unstable
after merging into a picture. I find these meshes will very ofton
deform irreparable as I modify other shapes or meshes in the 3d
editor, lofter or shaper. Is there anything I can do to make these
meshes more stable so I don't have to continually redo the model?
Deformations occur to meshes from 3d Studio library and ones created
by me within Autocad. The deformations may occur while I scale,
move, rotate or otherwise modify a completely seperate shape. Thank
you for your attention.

It sounds like your 3DS.EXE got corrupted somehow. First, check your
system for virus' that might've "touched" the program, and then
delete your 3DS.EXE and reinstall it from the original master disks,
making sure that nothing modifies the program in any way. If the
problem continues after that, contact your dealer for a new set of
disks.

I am using 3D Studio under OS2 Warp. Is it possible these shattered distortions
of meshes are occuring because of it? It happens quite ofton, and progressivly
more ofton as I use the program. Ultimatly, I have to reload 3D Studio or go
crazy.

Hi Peter,

Not OS2 directly. Similar reports have been reported and the hard disc
controller cas at fault. Also, modifying 3DS.exe in anyway will destabilize the
environment. Can you reinstall from your original shipping floppies and swap
your hard disc controller with another and then run some tests?
