#Autoshade-Targa
6 messages in this thread
Kevin,
I've been trying to poke around in Autoshade, "creating" texture maps,
etc., but I've been having some real problems with the SET TARGASET
command. Autoshade doesn't seem to like to work with Tmode. I usually have
been working at 512×486 and I'm I'm not going into a video system, so I
don't think I need genlock. Could you give me an example of what a
Targaset string should look like for Autoshade? I know I should take this
over to the Autocad forum, but I'm not a member over there. There's
another thing I should get around to doing.<g>

Kevin,
I forgot to include that I'm using a Targa+ 16/32.

Roger,
Make sure you have Truevision's Targa+ ADI driver (the one that lets
you run AutoShade, AutoCAD and 3D Studio), which works with TMODE. If you
must use the Targa emulation mode, then you're limited to 512×482. You'd
do a SET TARGA=247 (assuming installed @ address D000, default i/o of 220),
and SET TARGASET=T32P241E (id's board as Targa 32, 2×241 lines,
E=overscan), then run TPLUSINI T32.INI. Do not run TMODE after this, at
least until you no longer want Targa-compatible mode. Since I use
Truevision's driver for this, I don't need to play around like this
anymore.

Thanks Kevin,
Got it running. To your knowledge is RDPTARGP.EXP 33,294 03-20-91 the most
recent version? Also, do you if there are any special settings to get into
Truevision's BBS? I've tried with my modem and someone else's and every
communications software I can get my hands on with no luck. But after I
said that the last time someone came on and said it works fine. I called
back immediately to blank screen again. I must be doing something wrong!
Thanks again.

So I'm just a somebody, huh? I was logging on the Truevision using
PROCOMM. The setup I was using was: ASSIGN S1 "1-317-577-8783^M" ; phone
number SET BAUD 2400 ; configure line settings SET PARITY
NONE SET DATABITS 8 SET DUPLEX FULL
When logging on, you will get a line of garbage. Hit return to syncronize.
