I did an complex linked animation and I needed to render it in reverse order as frame "0" was the end, and frame "330" was the begining. I tried selecting "Range" and entered a range of "330" to "0". It rendered frame 330 first and rendered it as "XXXX0330.tga. I expected it to render as frane "XXXX0000.tga. Have I missed something here? What is the correct procedure for turning an animation around? Help…. Marv.

Hi Marv, << .. What is the correct procedure for turning an animation around?.. >> Are you rendering to fields or frames? After rendering your sequence, you are able to create a Image File List(IFL) which can list the files in the desired order, ie.. XXXX330 …. XXXX….. …. XXXX0000 In addition, the following set of utilities can help you too… File Info for 3DSUTI.ZIP Section: HWare/OpSys/Video Contributor: 72440,3046 Size: 380143 Submitted: 3/14/95 Type: Binary Accesses: 263 Title: 10 Utilities to help manage 3DS Images. Keys: IMAGE UTILITIES MANAGE 3DS Updated 3DSUTI.ZIP Ten programs for use with 3DS Image Files COPY3DS, DEL3DS, REN3DS, SHOW3DS, SHIFT3DS, IFLGEN, DUMMY, ADD03DS, and DEL03DS. These Utilities update a previous version which handled only .TGA files. The new collection handles any file extension The utilities help you ma 3DS generated images with leading Zero's. ADD03DS & DEL03DS for instance add and delete the leading zero's, to & from sequentially numbered files. Each utility has a self explanatory dialog. (Approx DL 2400 baud: 18:00)

Thanks, I'll take a look at what you recomend. I'm rendering "Fields". I use DiaQuest Quick Pass for dumping so I can easily reverse field order if necessary. Or is their something else that I need to be aware of? Thanks…..Marv.

There is an Nth-serial numbering parameter in the 3DS.SET file which causes frames rendered as every-nth frame to be numbered sequentially. This might work for you, but I've never tried it backwards. Else, VP with an IFL are a quick solution. — James — Choreo Motion —

Marvin, The Quickest way to utilize these .tga files in reverse is in Video Post with an IFL file. You simple create and IFL file and call it up in video post instead of the series of targas. Check our MakeIFL. Murph'

Thanks….. I'll add that to my list. I've been given some other things to try that will still allow me to use my Quick pass/Diaquest. Thanks I may need it. Marv.
