#PAR slave

I am going to buy another Pentium as a render station and I want to
attach a PAR to it. This second Pentium will be the 3DS slave.
Can I render within 3DS straight to the slave P90 PAR or will I have
to put it as TGA's on the slave and then convert.
My dealer does not know so any help would be appreciated.

As long as you can see the PAR drive and output TGAs to it, you should have no
problem rendering directly to the PAR.

I tried rendering directly to my par drive over a Lantastic network and it did
not
work. When I share my Par drive over the network, I then I try to access it I
get
a Path not found error message. I have an uneasy suspicion that this whole
direct
render thing is not as trivial as it sounds. Help!

Alex,
I cannot get it to work either.
I have contacted my supplier again who sugested loading the full 3ds software
with dongle on the slave, loading the PXP program, switching the dongle back
and then running the PXP from the master. At least that's what I think he said.
I'm to busy to muck around at the moment (I'm converting TGA for now ).
I'll let you know if I get anywhere.
