I am going to do some animations that will be edited and laid out to the tape
on Macs. But it will be broadcast resolution. I am wondering what is the best
wa way to transfer TGA or other files to Mac. I could render them to PAR and
put it on the tape, so the guys on Macs could work with the tape directly, but
I am looking for other alternatives.

If you've got a SCSI card you can connect a Syquest drive and save
your .tga's to it. You'll also need a PC-MAC converter. There is a
shareware demo available here of one called MacSEE. It works very
well for doing just this and also allows you to format and read/write
mac floppies on your PC. I think you can find it by going EFORUM.

Just faced with this problem myself. Ended up buying a program from Software
Architects called Formatter 5. They have a Mac PC Manager init which will allow
you to mount a PC formatted SCSI drive (hard drive, Syquest, MO, etc.) on a
Mac. As far as I could find out, this is the only program which will allow you
to mount a PC hard drive. Every other translation software seems to work only
with removable media. I use it pretty often now and it works great, except for
a bug which prohibits the software from recognizing more than 3 fdisk-formatted
partitions. They're workin on it, though. I find it EXTREMELY convenient for
transferring hundreds of megs of files. BTW, it costs about $180 if you buy it
direct.
