#3.2 bug(?)

The only way to get them back is to go to PICK OBJECTS mode and then do a
screen redraw (Alt R). I'm really not sure if this is a bug or not. After all,
if you're manipulating points there's no need to see the other objects. But I
thought I'd post this just the same.

Joe,
Right, thats not a bug. It's done to unclutter the display while you are
editing in points mode. If you want to be able to edit one object while still
having some other objects drawn to use for reference, it can be done. Click on
the object you want to edit, then SHIFT select the objects you want to be
viewable while you are editing. Then select the edit method you want..ie:
POINTS, FACES, EDGES, etc. Now these additionally selected object will be
drawn in wireframe as you are editing and will not erase as you zoom in/out,
pan, etc.

GreG,
Makes sense to me. I guess I just got caught off guard because I wasn't
expecting that to happen. Thanks for the explanation.
Oh, and in case I forgot to post a thank-you for the Set/Fill edge, Thank You.
It works great. The only problem I've run into has been trying to combine a
large sphere with a smaller sphere. It's the way the points are aligned that
causes..um..creases(?) in the large sphere. Fortunately, I was able to make the
object by spinning (or sweeping – I forget which), a spline shape, which was
the best way to make the object in the first place. Live and learn. I'll get
the hang of this one of these days. Thanks again for all your help.

Joe,
Yep…there are so many ways to do something that you usually forget which is
the easiest. <g> I've found myself at times halfway done with an object, only
to realize that I could have done it in 1/4 of the time by using another
method. <sigh>

GreG,
I've got to learn some self-discipline. Sometimes I'm so anxious to start a
project that I don't sit down and plan it out first. That is a big mistake. I
end up wasting a lot of time due to poor planning. But I'm getting better at
it. I'm used to thinking in terms of paint and canvas and I finally realized
that the same planning used to create a painting can be adapted for the
computer image as well. It's a bit different, but it works.
