Although I do not need a true D.T.P. program, do you think that WP
will be set up to allow integrated graphics within text in any future
release, also from your wording it sounds as though you are connected with WP
Corp, or run a BBS for them ??? If so, it may not be a bad investment after
all, at least your people seem to be listening.
Thanks for the info….also notice that not even a lowly programmer
or individual from MSS has even had the courtesy to throw their 2 cents worth
in. I really don't think they even exist any more. (notice when saying lowly
programmer I MEAN MSS's, not the normally proffesional type seen writing
Amiga programs..).

WordPerfect 5.0 when available should blow the socks off of any word
processor anywhere. It has integrated text and graphics (and fonts) and will
be designed from the ground up on the Amiga with straight 68000 assembly.
The WordPerfect programming team is just that – there are about 5 or 6
people who do nothing but program, another group of people who do nothing but
test, another group that does marketing, another group that does support.
I think this is important, because it shows the calibre and level of
commitment that WordPerfect makes to their product. It also leaves the
programmers to their programming.
WordPerfect is planning on an entire series of Amiga-products with
interchangeable data and that will run together (of course – this thing
multitasks).
I hate to be skeptical, but I am skeptical that a small company like MSS
could ever provide what's needed to get a "world-class" product up and
running and provide support.
Check out the specs on WordPErfect 5.0 for IBM – it's out now. The Amiga
version will far exceed even that. Unfortunately 5.0 Amiga is a ways away –
but there is a reasonable upgrade path from the company.
I am not employed by WordPerfect – I am a beta for them. I can't tell you
how dedicated and how much they listen to their customers. I have had many
of my own suggestions incorporated into WordPerfect 68000 just by asking.
Before I was a beta. This is the company to "place your bet" on. They
_have_ made mistakes and errors, however. The first release was barely
useable (there's a long story behind that) but it's in the past. It's quite
a solid product now.
Also – bug fixes were mailed free of charge just by asking no manual or
disks.

Well, as you can see you didn't have to twist my arm too hard, I
picked up a copy this evening, and since I have used it on my 386 at work,
shouldn't have much trouble on Ami… Thanks for some solid information on
the product.

Good, if you have any problems at all you've got the 1-800 number AND the
sig here. I frequent here alot and may be able to help. Stick with this one
– it's got a really really bright future. Pick up a IBM 5.0 brochure
somewhere. And remember than Amiga 5.0 is goin got be far superior!!
Don't be TOO skeptical about small companies. I remember way back when Word
Perfect Corp. (formerly Satellite) was a small company. You have to start
somewhere — preferrably with a good product, good marketing approach, good
customer support, and lots of luck.
Yes, well, I was keeping an open mind until I saw the MSS messages here.
But as far as "in general" you are right.
