A lighter line every few lines? I haven't seen this effect on 24 pin printers (by "venetian blind effect" I was refering to the output from 9 pin printers which don't completely close the gaps between even adjacent pins). But then I haven't used the Toshiba printer, so this effect may be inherent in their 24 pin graphics output. Could you send me an example? My address is: James Bayless New Horizons Software, Inc. If you don't buy CBM's enhancer package you will of course be able to exchange your ProWrite System disk with us for the new stuff when we can distribute it–at no charge (our policy). However, I recommend you get the full Workbench 1.3 as there are several new goodies in there besides the new printer drivers. Just for your information, the major differences between the printer drivers we are currently shipping and the ones that CBM will have on the "official" release are support for psuedo-18 and 24 pin modes on 9 pin printers (at a reduced speed), and faster printing for _some_ printers in graphics mode (like the HP LaserJet) due to downcoding into assembly. Not all drivers are being downcoded–the only one I know of for sure is the LaserJet. This will (I have been told) increase the speed of this driver by a factor of two (beyond its already speedy rate). James Bayless New Horizons Software, Inc.
