Reading your message was almost frightening to me. I have had almost exactly the same experience and thoughts about buying an A2000. I have pretty much decided to go with a multi-sync monitor, to be compatible with the new chipset. Actually almost wrote up a check for the A2000, and a 1084. -Noah (PS: I'm also from Pittsburgh, …well up north a bit, Lower Burrell)

Noah, Yes, I've almost written a check a few times, but the complexity (to me) of the decision has dampened my desire a bit. Luckily I'm not as impulsive as I was when I bought my first computer! WHICH monitor do YOU plan to buy? People here have convinced me that a multi-sync is the best choice, but I've been considering a 2000HD and the extra money for a multi-sync would then be harder to come up with (not to mention a modem, compiler package and a big box of blank disks!) Ahhh, limited resources here… –francis
