HELP!
The hard drive on my 2500 keeps shutting down whenever it reaches a
particular address. It happens quite often, and requires a cold re-boot.
Frequently I have to re-boot repeatedly to make the drive head land on a
"clean" sector. I've tried Disk Mechanic, but of course it doesn't get a
chance to repair the sectors before they cause another shutdown. Same for
the diagnostic. The drive shuts down as soon as the program finds the
strange sector.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I had to power down once when I'd
forgotten the password to some cheap game, and it seems the problem started
there. I've heard that some software will actually vandalize your computer
if you don't make it happy.
Would something like Disk Doctor help, and if so, is there an Amiga
version?
