#Music-X? Sonix-to-DMCS?
5 messages in this thread
I remember someone mentioning there was a demo of Music-X online? Is this
actually true? I haven't spotted it anywhere…
Also, I have a Sonix score that I'd like to play on my MIDI keyboard. Does
anybody know of a Sonix to DMCS converter?
Thanx, Paul Paul Whittemore [72007,3305]
Brian,
I've never been able to get that program to function properly, either. I
believe that the docs state that the program is in rough form, and it may
not support MFF 1 files. (I'm going from memory here, since I don't have
the program handy.)
I don't know of a working bi-directional SMUS <==> MFF program, although,
there is a SMUS ==> Music-X converter and a Music-X <==> MFF converter.
(AmigaVendor, DL 10) You could use that combination to go at least one
way. I believe that Dr. T's Copyist programs allow some sort of conversion
mechanism, too, but, I've never used them myself. Perhaps somebody more
familiar with the Copyist programs can comment here?
Hope this helps. 8)

Eventually I'll add music but I don't have any in mind at the moment. I
believe this BIG anim should be ready by Fall. It's only the Section with
the Muscle Guy running down the Corridor that is taking 30 minutes a
frame. Once those 300 frames are done they rest should go back to my
average of 2-5 minute per frame.
As to the 300 Frame Length, I chose 10 seconds as my scene lengths for no
real reason I hope it plays well. So far the other Anims look good at this
Length.
BTW I uploaded a still from this beastie as SEWER.JPG, pardon the Low
Quality look of it since I used ALOT of JPEG compression on the image to
make the Files size small.
I believe the reason I'm getting 30 minute per frames time is dues to the
# of Lights to a large extent
paul,
I think you will find the MusicX demo in the MicroIllusions library in
AmigaVendor.

Well, you can theoretically take a Sonix score and load it as is into DMCS,
as Sonix is roughly equivelent to SMUS in score format, and DMCS can read
SMUS scores. Problem is, DMCS's SMUS support is a bit quirky from the
experiences I've had with it, and Sonix scores are supposedly not quite
exactly SMUS, but something very close.
In any case, you should be able to try it, anyway. It might need some
work (particularly in assigning voices to tracks/staves, and the like…),
but it will be mostly there.
