#Multiple Floppies HELP!

I currently have an A2000HD with two internal floppies as well as an
external A1010. Since I am the software librarian of our user group, I'd
like to be able to mass duplicate our PD disks as quickly as possible. So,
I went out and got another A1010 and proceded to plug it into the jack on
the back of the DF2: A1010. INFO recognizes that there is a drive out
there as DF3: but the drive refuses to do anything. I've tried switching
drives and confirmed that it's NOT the drive itself–the same thing happens
regardless of which physical drive is last in the chain.
Does anyone have any insightful clues as to how I can effectively have four
floppies work on the A2000HD?

The drive interface on the middle drive has to be modified. The
12v line isn't carried thru…but adding a jumper, it should work fine as
df3:

Thanks for the tip, Don. That would explain the total lack of any activity
on DF3: now wouldn't it! I'll get my trusty soldering iron out and try to
find the hack file that someone else told me is on the nets…

No need to look…just follow the lead from pin #23 on the input
and find a convienent place to run a wire from it to pin #23 on the output
connector.

I believe the A1010 drive doesn't pass the power connector thru to the next
drive, as C= wanted to limit the A500 owners to only 1 external drive (due
to power supply limitations). There is a modification out there (I think
the diagrams are available here on CIS) if you're a hardware hacker type,
although that would also void your warrantee, or perhaps you could return
the drive, and get a third party equivelent that does pass the power
connector thru.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll try the Master3A I use on the A500 at work
and see if it passes the 12V before I hack up one of the A1010's. That
totally explains the apparent morbidity of DF3:
