Mike, It's Chris again, regarding Music-X. I'm trying to do some MIDI to multitrack syncing, and I'm trying out the SYNCMAN unit from MSI of Pasadena, California. Do you or anyone there have experience with it? It is supposed to stripe tape with SMPTE and then read it back and convert it to MIDI Time Code which Music-X is supposed to read. It doesn't appear to be reading it back, or Music-X doesn't recognize it. The tape appears to have been striped ok though. SYNCMAN is also supposed to do Song Pointer Position which it appears to put onto tape when I send MIDI information from Music-X (ie., the MIDI LED flashes as if MIDI information is being transmitted from Music-X to SYNCMAN to tape. When playing back, the LED also flashes as if MIDI information is being sent out but the Music-X sequencer doesn't start playing. I've reset the timing source to MIDI clocks at this point and the MIDI start/stop to receive. Am I overlooking something obvious, or is there and incompatability in the hardware. Is the sync implementation in Music-X complete as indicated in the manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance…………..C70027,2107

What version are you using? Music-X 1.0 has a bug which relates to Midi Time Code. You may need to get a later version which fixes this bug.
