Jeff – M2Sprint was bought and squashed by Benchmark, who then proceeded to do absolutely nothing with either M2SPrint or their own M2 compiler. A year ago (about) they had a special "sale" on their libraries and the like (my opinion is they were dumping stock) and have since been totally silent. There were rumors of someone working on 2.0 defs for Benchmark M2 but I've heard nothing for several months. I also preferred M2Sprint and was sorry to see it squelched, but 'tis the American way (if ya can't beat'em, buy 'em out and sit on 'em) … Harry

Jeff, The last I heard is that the M2S product was bought by the owner of Benchmark M2, the other major Modula 2 product. Haven't heard anything about continuing support for either product, e.g., bindings for the new operating systems. – via Whap!

Jeff, Harry gave you the line on M2S and benchmark. Modula 2 is still alive in Europe,as I understand it, and has been enhanced via the Oberon standard (Wirth's next generation of the Pascal line). A+L AG, Daderiz 61,CH-2540 Grenchen is the name and address of the supplier of same. Cost is $249 for the editor/compiler/library/linker/make and other utilities. Source level debugger which includes a dissassembler and xref tool is another $165. Shipping is free (at least it was when I contacted them in late 91-early 92). I have not actuallyseen the package, just heard about it from some european freinds and the material the company sent me in response to a request for info. Another option for you may be to get Hi-Soft Pascal which I have heard good things about. I've always had this secret impossible dream that Martin Taillefer would finish the M2 and Ada compilers he was working on for Oxxi before he went to work for CBM.
