No I am afraid not…..I rang Safe Harbor last night and appears
that they now have "IN STOCK" the 9600 version but the 14.4 is still in
short supply. I came very close to cancelling the order but I cant find an
equivelent alternative.
I would really like the FAX facility and voice messaging (upgrade) and I
don`t know of any other modem offering that.

FWIW, I've got the Supra V.42bis and it's great, well worth the wait. I
had my order in by the end of December, and received it less than a month
ago; that may help estimate your delivery date.

Did you get your Supra from Safe Harbor?……I faxed my order to
Safe Harbor at the end of January so if your experience is anything to go
by then I may have it soon, fingers crossed.
Are you using it on the Amiga? and have you found any software to work
the FAX facility?.

Denny Atkin reported moderate success using the Demo version of the
(shareware) version of AFAX AmigaFax software with the SupraModem. You'll
find that file in AmigaUser/Communications Lib.

I just purchased the SupraFAXModem V.32 (same basic machine but limited
to 9600 baud) and was curious as to what term program you guys are using.
I'm using BackTalk and have had poor success with it using XPR protocols.
If you are using a term program with XPR's what settings are you using? I'm
about to try the '\N0' setting that disables all error correction and
compression routines along with '%C'. I usually use just '&F2' but it locks
up with XPR every time. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I'm not familiar with the Supra V.32 modem, but I've had no problems
using the XPR libraries at 9600 baud – the key thing to do is to make sure
that you set up the modem to use hardware handshaking (CTS/RST) between the
modem and your system, and set up your serial preferences accordingly.

Thanks for the info. I have CTS/RTS turned on in Prefs (using 2.04).
I believe the modem takes care of the rest when the factory setting is
used.

I've been using the PPI v.32bis modem, not the Supra, and it works fine…
for me with BackTalk, Whap, Online!, and other term programs. Sorry I
can't' help you. I'm sure others here will jump in. Denny Atkin is using
the Supra… maybe he can help.

I'll second Bob's suggestion…make sure you have your serial
preferences set for CTS/RTS.

Do you have a base model A2000 or A500? I believe that unless you have an
accelorator in you machine that you will loose characters if you set the
serial port much higher than 19200. (I believe that Supra recomends setting
the serial port to 57600bps to be able to use the modem to it's best
advantage. What you can do is either get an accelorator card , or if you're
using an A2000 you could also get ASDG's Dual Serial Board which would let
you go at 57600bps with no problem. I have the same model SupraFAXModem but
unfortunately I have it hooked up to a Commodore 2232 serial card that has
a limit of 19200bps, so I can't get as high a speed as is possible with
this modem.

Thanks for the reply. I did go to the serial area of prefs and shove
the sucker as far to the right as I could 8-). I did get xprquickb to work
(at least it D/L'd ok but gave me a ton of 'gurp' when I logged off right
after). So far tho, I haven't been able to get xprzmodem to work (I keep
getting 'bad CRC' and 'bad header' errors). I do have RTS/CTS turned on so
I'll give your suggestion a try. I have also tried zmodem in 'normal' mode
(all correction and compression turned off) with the same errors. Perhaps
I'm just moving too fast for my poor underpowered machine as you indicate.
On the bright side…'030 board prices are dropping on almost a daily basis

As well as having CTS/RTS enabled, you must be using a 7-wire cable for
these signals to pass between the modem and Ami. I'm using a Supra V.32bis
on an unaccelerated 2000HD with no problems (using VLT). My comm rate is
set to 19,200.

I'm actually using a 7 wire cable with gold contacts and extra
shielding. My problem seems to be with the xprzmodem.library (v2.10) and
/or my settings. Actually I seem to have 2 versions of the lib. One is
supposed to be 2.5x but when I do a 'version' on it, it says 2.10 (but it
is 2K bigger than the actual 2.10). Either version yields the same response
'bad CRC' and 'bad header'. All other xpr protocols seem to work fine now.
I have re d/l'd the xprzmodem protocols using my old modem in case they
somehow got corrupted, but still find them not working properly with
BackTalk. Others say they work fine, so it has to be how I'm setting the
modem up.
