I have an IBM Model 57 386 sx machine with a Hitachi 1503s CD-ROM external
drive which is using a microchannel Online Computer Systems' CDI-210H
controller. When using Microsoft Bookshelf for Windows under either Win
3.0 or Win 3.1 and MSCDEX.EXE version 2.21, under Windows' enhanced mode, I
usually get a hanging system and the error message, "Microchannel Timeout
Error." Since the system is completely locked up, the only way out is to
hit the power switch. Any ideas what's going on? This WILL happe with or
without EMM386.EXE, and with EMMExclude=A000-EFFF.
Help! MS and Online folks appear to be clueless.
