Help!!! I'm having a very bizarre problem with my XT Bridgeboard. When I click on an icon to open a PC window, everything starts out fine. I get the LPT1 at 0378h prompt, but after that, I will usually get the following error message: E000h Optional ROM checksum error xxh I've tried changing the RAM parameters in the PC prefs to D000, and I get D000h Optional ROM checksum error xxh Then, I've tried changing the setting to A000. An error won't occur, but the prompt Janus Handler v2.20 Found does not appear either (as a matter of fact, I have only gotten this message to appear twice). What gives? The Bridgeboard still does 99% of what it is supposed to do, but this error bothers me, because I am unable to use the PCDisk program for virtual drives (it crashes the computer). Here are the actions I have taken: 1) I took the board out and put it in the other bridge slot. No effect. 2) I've used the PCInstall disk two or three times, thinking that maybe something went wrong in the installation program. No effect. 3) I have a revision 4.1 motherboard, and I am aware of the minor bus problem which might require minor modifications. I've checked this, and I see nothing that needs to be modified. 4) I suspected that it may be my startup-sequence, but I don't think it is. I use the startup off of the PCInstall disk. 5) I also suspected a hardware problem. I checked everything, and I don't see any broken or misplaced parts on the board. 6) I suspected that it could be one of the custom chips. However, I don't think this is it either; if it were, you would think that the computer would generate the same error when A000 is selected. It doesn't. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions anyone could give, even in the above areas. Currently, I have nothing other than the Bridgeboard (XT version) in my computer. A friend of mine had it in his computer, and it for him to send me a copy of his PC Workbench to see if perhaps his
