————————————————————————HI, Ifanyone can read German (I assume this is German), I'd appreciate any kind of translation, summation or general idea of what it is about. Thanks, – al saveriano – ————————————————————————- DIESES PROGRAMM FUNKTIONIERT NUR UNTER KICKSTART 2.0!!!

Al, It's talking about a patch called CEDtrick that allows CED Pro 2.12 to work with the new ECS modes. At least that's what I think it says. It's been a LONG time since I tried to read German. Don

Yup….that's what it says. 🙂 It also mentions something about a change to the way some string gadgets work (I think). It requires 2.0 too. That's about all I got out of it (besides what you said). It was kinda tough to read because the special German characters that were used to compose the message were either missing, or translated to a new character.

Here's a full translation of the text: THIS PROGRAM ONLY WORKS UNDER KICKSTART 2.0!!! ============================================== This program ist just a quick hack. It patches CEDPro 2.12 so that the screen will change displaymode to Productivity or SuperHires-Iterlaved depending on the given screensize. It also makes the program accept menu-shortcuts when a string-gadget is activated in a requester. (Side-effect : it's possible to use CTRL-Cursor-Keys to jump to next word in String-Gadgets). Here's how: – For Productivity mode the screen-resolution (height and width) must be set to the overscan-resolution of Productivity (set in Prefs/Overscan) and interlace should be on. – For SuperHires-Interlace mode the screen-resolution (height and width) must be set to the overscan-resolution of SuperHires-Interlace (set in Prefs/Overscan and interlace should be on. Until the people from ASDG come up with the idea to update their editor this 2576 byte-program should do. Since this program doesn free itself from CLI it should be started with `run >nil: <nil: cedtrick' to start it as a background task. Cedtrick can be terminated with CTRL-C but it should only be terminated after CedPro has been quit completely (`Quit and Die') otherise the program will crash when the next requester pops up. Since Cedtrick patches the OpenWindow()-Library-Vector I recommend not to quit Cedtrick at all. Source is not included since the program has some… Hope this helps. BTW, where did you find this program? -Quinten

Quinten, Thank you for the full translation. It was very helpful. I honestly don't remember where I picked this little ditty up but you are most welcome to it of you wish to have it. You can call my BBS in NJ at 201-398-6360 or, if you have access to FidoNet file request capability, you can FREQ it as: CEDTRICK.LHA Thanks again, – al saveriano –
