Brian,
I get the DAK catalogue and have been wondering if Drew is ever going to
get into Mac stuff?
Iris
Iris,
I just don't think the right deal has come along yet.

Ok, Bryan. I'll keep my eye on the catalogue. By the way I have the
TurboBaker. Whole family loves it. Got my brother to buy one and he got a
second one as a wedding gift for a good friend. Now that is a hot item!

I've been curious about the TurboBaker myself, Iris. Has it been
pretty easy/convenient to use?

Not a very good baker

Well Patty, it is so easy to use, it is beyond belief. DAK sends you a
recipe book and has a newletter with more recipes and all you do is put the
stuff in the baker and push start. Each recipe gives you the order in
which the ingredients are to be added for the best results. Making bread
usually takes under 10 minutes of my time; the TurboBaker does the rest.
And it is very easy to clean too. I just keep it right on my countertop
and we all use it weekly.

Last night my wife used the Turbo Baker and forgot to put some sort of
rubber gasket in. The bread cooked down into the machine and burned. Now
we can't get the bread pan out and it looks like the breadmaker, not the
bread is toast.
Does DAK have a repair policy?
Yikes –> re the rubber gasket on your TurboBaker. But I am just another
owner of the product. It is Brian you want to address your note to. By
the way sometimes the bread coats the dohickey in the middle even with the
rubber gasket and you have to twist and yank gently to get the pan out and
use a knife to clean off the sticking dough afterwards. Have you tried the
yank it out approach? If the coils don't have cooked dough on them there
is little you can ruin.
Iris
this is really stupid! I am not interested in reading about dak's bread
machine in the cd rom section…please take your culinary questions
elsewhere!!!

Sounds wonderful! The only problem I could foresee is that as much as
we like bread around here we'd all certainly weigh a ton in short order.

…..a risk well worth taking……

I got a DAK Baker, ordered from the "returned stuff" catalog. First unit,
3 failures for 3 tries. Sent it back; replacement unit: i partial failure,
several/many partial -to-total successes, but I've only stuck to one recipe
with only one variation (Whole Wheat, with added Oat Bran. It comes out
solid enough to make half a meal, easily, either as soup & bread, or as a
sandwich. I don't use mine often enough to justify/amortize the cost, yet,
but that time will come.

Did you get the Turbo Baker or the regular one?

The results sound promising. Thanks for the info.

Iris,
Thanks for your comments. Nice to hear from you.
