Morton Management, Inc., is the manufacturer of the GigaRak. We have introduced (and are shipping) the GigaRak-CD. This new system is a CD-ROM disk subsystem that puts large numbers of CD-ROM drives on the network. It is not a jukebox. All drives are online, all the time. The "starter" system has 42 Drives. It can be expanded (in 21 drive increments) using 3.11 250 User to 5,250 Drives. Which, of course, is more than enough for most folks! The cost of the GigaRak-CD is variable. Depending on the type of network (Ethernet, Token Ring, TCNS, FDDI) and the speed of the processors and the CD-Drives themselves. Other vendors use tower style PC's. Our "tower" is over 6' tall. We include built-in monitors & keyboards with built-in UPS optional. When you're talking about a huge number of drives, it doesn't make sense to use typical PC style cases. We are unique in that we can supply the Novell NetWare system itself, dial-in access, print services, etc. We support our products with unlimited (800) number telephone support 24 Hours-a-day, 365 Days-per-year. We also have a three year warranty on all our products (including the CD Drives) with "hot spare" overnight replacement for failed parts for up to the full three years. Stephen, Were you displaying at SIGCAT in Washington last month? Someone had a tower as you described, and I was intrigued. (I'm really surprised that no one else has mentioned that show at all on this forum – you'd think the Special Interest Group for CD/ROM Applications and Technology shows would be at least announced here.)
