Could you confirm that your friends bridgeboard could be used in an Amiga
A500 ? And if so do you have any idea where he got it from. Perhaps he is
a Compuserve user ?

The only way you are going to use a bridgeboard in an A500 is to get a
bogeda bay first (or similar expantion box) and then toss in a BB.
A500's have no built-in Zorro II/III slots, and the BB's from CBM at least
need at least one. The expantion slot on the side if your A500
wont do without getting an expantion box that gives you zorro slots. Your
best bet would be to go with somelike like that AT emulator that
GVP sells with their HD/Ram boxes for the A500
