Hello, and thank you all for the great help and suggestions I've been
receiving (it's making the MS-to-AmigaDOS transition a lot less painful!).
To help cut down on my forum visits, I have been searching for a good (read
"reference standard") AmigaDOS manual, one that has not only well-laid-out
syntax diagrams, but that also explains why a certain command won't work,
or when. I have tried the Bantam manual, but have found it almost as
cryptic as my original MSDOS 1.1 manual, and am still trying to assign two
paths to one devicename (is that possible?).
Any suggestions, reviews, or publications (and ISBN #s if possible)
would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to find one that both covers the
OS in a beginning-hold-by-the-hand format, and also will cover the
low-level nuts-and-bolts of things on this machine. If I need to purchase
two manuals, so be it, and thank you all in advance for your time.
Peter
Well,
I've had no problems with the 2.04 manual… It seems to have all the
error messages I've needed. Indexing is a little off though….
