#Anger re: Autodesk

Dale: I've used Animator Pro for a couple of major and minor projects and
found it fairly easy to learn for a program that does as much as this one
does. I thought that the tutorial was about the best I've seen and the
manuals are also quite good.
I haven't had to rely on anybody for support except for the people on this
forum. I've had mixed experiences with dealers on AutoDesk software, but
there is at least a place that I can call. Most places require me to call
their product support lines, which are often awful.

That's a good recommendation, Chris. Makes me wonder how many of the
charges made by this other user were problems with the user and how many
were problems with the product and the company. I prefer a good manual to
all other forms of support. Generally I don't like tutorials (I find them
inadequate and usually irrelevant), but I do want a company that will back
its products in the vein of WordPerfect Corp., Borland and Microsoft. I've
had good support from IBM for two of its products, too.
But I get concerned when a company relies on commission-dependent sales
people to provide support. They usually don't know, and they definitely
don't care.
