This Times Two product you are talking about sounds sorta like a PerStor
controller for the IBM. I have had experience with the PerStor controller and
would not recommend it to anyone. It killed alot of drives on our BBS in short
order and once we replaced it with a SCSI controller and some new drives we
have not had a problem since. I don't like a controller that changes the
manufacturers recommended formatting procedure.

Times Two is not a controller but some sort of sector level software driver. It
intercepts the OS read/writes to the disk, and doubles the storage of the drive
through its compressions rountines. I guess its like AutoDoubler for the MAC,
and DRDOS 6.0 and MS-DOS 6.0. I believe all three are are sector level
compression disk drivers. What I hear about Times Two is that once its
installed on the disk you can move it from one machine to another without the
machine needing to have it installed, for example on a 44MB SyQuest Cartridge
that you installed the Times Two on, and you take it to your local service
bureau that doesn't use T x T.
