I have just started using Imagine on my Dell 486/66. I have noticed one conflict with emm386. When I type "imagine" to start the program, the screen blanks for a second, then returns to the Dos prompt. I tried this running both Dos 5.0 and Dos 6.0. As soon as I removed the line in my config.sys file that started emm386, all was well. Incidentally, I tried this on two different machines with different display cards, one was an ATI Ultra Pro, the other the stock Dell local bus S3 chip. Both worked when I didn't use emm386. Other than that, after using Imagine on an Amiga 3000 for so long, the PC version is so similar, but the screen redraws on a my 486 are really fast, as are renderings. I can get used to this.

As per the addendum you should have received, start IMAGINE with the /NOXMS switch. /// Mike ///

Anyhow, I solved the problem by using the version of emm386 that comes with Dos , not the one that comes with Windows. Make any sense? Me neither, but I have the program running fine now. I did receive an addendum with Imagine, and there is no mention of the /noxms switch. After a call to Impulse I was told to us /noems. I have not tried /noxms, which I will try next. However, I did notice that problem occurred with Dos 5 and 6
