3DSLIB

DOes anybody have any news on the 3DSLIB that was supposed to be
available from Autodesk? They aren't answering my faxes. Maybe if I
send one every day…
Chris,
Are you reffering to the files that are part of the developers toolkit? I'm not
sure what you are looking for. Please give me more information.

Brian: I've got the IPAS developer's toolkit already, I refer to
something that people have been calling the 3DSLIB – a library for
writing code to interface with 3DS. For instance, I have a need to
insert X,Y,Z position data for an object from the outside world into
the positions of an object inside of 3DS. Do you have a developer's
kit that does this? P.S. I also want to move atom coordinate data
from Hyperchem into 3DS.
I have heard a couple of times recently, about folks wishing to get
the Hyperchem data into 3DS. John Walker created CineChem which I
believe does that, but I have been told that it never has been put
through any QA and probably needs more work. In addition, it does
not seem to be available outside of Autodesk (and so far, I've not
seen it inside!).
I'll ask Bob Bennett about CineChem. He's the Product Manager for 3DS, and
will appreciate your interest in linking HyperChem to 3DS.

What number are you directing those FAXes to? It may not be getting to the
right folks.
