Whats the news on Emplant. Is it working? Can I buy it in the UK? Does it support third party graphic boards such as Retina? Pelle Braendgaard Aqua Multimedia, Cardiff, UK

YES, it works. I don't know of a UK distributor. And they promis Retina support by the end of this week. Ben, Leigh's Computers

Ben… Caught your answer on emplant working and a promise to have it working with Retina. Do you know if it works now with Opalvision. My main use would be to run PhotoShop. ..Carl

Ben, Hmmm, it seems that Emplant support is passing me by… I've been trying to get through to their BBS for the last two weeks, about once a day, and I cannot connect. I have used several term programs on the PC, as well as a Supra and USRobotics modem…no dice. I get into the BBS, and then the connection goes haywire. Have they delivered on Opalvision support yet? It might make me rethink my Emplant situation, and use it for more than a slotwarmer… //Jonathan, \\//via AutoPilot

Utilities Unlimited has active online support on Genie. All the emulation software upgrades are posted there as well. J.Drew answers my Emplant related questions within 24 hours usually. You ought to check it out if you are having difficulties connecting to the UU BBS. -the other Jonathan

The BBS is down, Jim kidnapped it to test the scsi drivers under different conditions. It's going back up this weekend. Ben, Leigh's Computers

Ben, Thanks for the information. I'll try getting back on Monday, and perhaps, try to get the old Emplant doing its thing. //Jonathan, \\//via AutoPilot

No OpalVision support yet, but Jim's working on it. The BBS has been down because he had to pull it apart to get at its SCSI drives. He's just finishing up the Amiga-side support for the SCSI controller. It'll include a driver that will go in the 8K of SRAM on the board and support autoboot. Jim said the board will be back up soon.

Do you have a number or a contact for the Emplant ? I have tried several mail order frims and called a couple of distributors but no one seems to carry the thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
