Like I said, I start out as a pessimist. It might be that the Toshiba will accept SCSI requests for data from music tracks. It would kind of suprise me though. Perhaps you should call Toshiba and ask for an "interface specification" for your drive. If special transfer modes for audio data exist, they would be in that document. Let me know what you find. John PS: It was audio CDs which I don't think have any kind of directory structure to speak of.

The Toshiba 3401 definitely does support cd da over the scsi bus. But I dont know of any program for the pc that uses it. There's a program for the Silicon graphics workstation that allows you to do it. And I've heard from one guy who's written a driver for the Sun Sparcstaion. The command itself is documented in the 'Toshiba SCSI Interface Specification 6.0'. Sorry I dont have the opcode in memory right now and the doc is floating around somewhere on my desktop. I guess you would also need a ASPI interface specification or some other toolkit to access you scsi interface board.
