cd da over scsi bus

Like I said, I start out as a pessimist.
It might be that the Toshiba will accept SCSI requests for data from music
tracks. It would kind of suprise me though. Perhaps you should call Toshiba
and ask for an "interface specification" for your drive. If special transfer
modes for audio data exist, they would be in that document.
Let me know what you find.

PS: It was audio CDs which I don't think have any kind of directory structure
to speak of.
The Toshiba 3401 definitely does support cd da over the scsi bus. But
I dont know of any program for the pc that uses it. There's a program
for the Silicon graphics workstation that allows you to do it. And
I've heard from one guy who's written a driver for the Sun
Sparcstaion. The command itself is documented in the 'Toshiba SCSI
Interface Specification 6.0'. Sorry I dont have the opcode in memory
right now and the doc is floating around somewhere on my desktop. I
guess you would also need a ASPI interface specification or some
other toolkit to access you scsi interface board.
