I am about to launch myself into the world of IPAS programming and was wondering which development environment would be best to use. I have, and am quite familiar with WATCOM C but can't get on with their debugger. If I stick with WATCOM am I forced to debug using WVIDEO? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. – Andrew

There is a bug in the Watcom support that prevents you from using it altogether. As far as I can tell the only way you can develop IPAS right now is using MetaWare High C/C++ and PharLap's 386 DOS Extender SDK. The problem with Watcom is that the IPAS you develop with it (or ADI driver, whatever) will allocate all available memory and it won't return it to 3DS (or anybody else) making it unusable. That's specially a problem when you try to debug as there is no memory available for the debugger. ements. It's not cheap and the price varies depending on the card. Ang
