Hello! I tried to reproduce the situation you described, but was not
able to reproduce any kind of buggy-looking symptoms. However, it is possible
that I still am not quite sure exactly what you mean. So, if this message
doesn't help you, please try explaining the situation to me again in greater
detail…
In any case, the following may be a source of confusion to the
determined section-builder:
If you create a section too large to fit in the Section window,
scrolling through it a page at a time may or may not include some of the
section contained in the previous page, depending on its length. Here's an
example:
Let's say that you leave the section resolution at its default zoom-in
value and create a section 8 measures long. Only about 6.25 measures are
displayed in the Section window at a time. Scrolling the section right 1 page
displays the remainder of the section, but measures 3 through 7 are still in
full view. So, even though you have "scrolled 1 page to the right," there
isn't a whole page there to view. Consequently, SuperJAM! doesn't begin the
section view with measure 7. Instead, it just bumps the display to section 3,
so you can see the rest of it.
I hope I haven't utterly confused you… If I am completely off-base
as to what it is you were trying to explain, let me know.

Hmmm. I think my explanation was a tad too brief, since I thought the
problem would reproduce readily.
If I define chords for measures 1-8, then scroll and display measures
6-14, the chords for measures 7 and 8 are *not* displayed. With a little
experimentation, I deduced that it was the measure numbers which were
incorrect, i.e., 7 and 8 were really 9 and 10, and thus did not in fact
have chords defined. My section was, as I recall, 199 measures long at the
time.

Hello! I read in your other letter that you were using SuperJAM! 1.0.
I have been doing all my testing on version 1.1, which is the latest version.
I repeated the process many more times just as you described it but still could
not get the program to foul up its measure #'s. Technical support has not had
any similar complaints from other users of 1.0, but that does not rule out the
fact that you may have uncovered something. In any case, it might be worth
your while to upgrade to 1.1 so you may benefit from its new feature
enhancements. It costs $29.95 to upgrade. I will continue to investigate your
problem and will let you know if I come up with anything. Thanks!

Hmmm- interesting. I *have* upgraded, and to tell the truth, I was
surprised when I checked my SuperJam! version and found it to be 1.0e, as
I'd thought the upgrade version was 1.1. On further checking, I find that
the "full" SuperJam! banner (that is, when run standalone) pronounces
itself to be 1.1, while invoking the program from B&P gives me a banner
version of 1.0e. Typo in the display code for the integrated version,
maybe?
Also, in case it's relevant, I'm running in interlaced mode, with an '030
accelerator.
