Hi, Well that doesn't work. When I pick display it asks me are you sure you want to render to display only, if I say yes it just starts rendering if I say no it takes me back to where I can pick a file or display. Andy

Andy: You missed a step somewhere – Jim hit the answer right on the head! Go to RENDER/SETUP/CONFIGURE, and click on the DISPLAY button, it will take you to another box which asks you to select a driver. This is where you select NULL and then OK. Then remember to select a file name to render to! Take a look at pages 8-135 and 8-136 of your manual for details… Greg Pyros

That should have worked. Let me do it again. Renderer/Setup/Configure – the button next to "Display" (should read rcpadi or rdpadi). You get a pick list of available drivers. Pick "NULL". "OK" on this screen and then pick Renderer/Render, pick your view port, punch the "disk" button (to render to disk). That should do it. From this point on it won't render to screen, but just to disk. I just tried it and this is what should be done. Let me know.

Hi, If I pick Renderer/Setup/Configue there is no Display button to click on or do I see rcpadi or rdpadi. The top left button is Compresed and two right buttons are FLIC and TARGA there's a few other things in there but not Display? The rest of what you said is like that but the only place I see a Display button is in Renderer/Render and that's ether on or off. Andy

Hi, Ok I finealy got it to work. I really don't understand why I had to do it the way I did though. I pick Renderer/Setup/Configure from the 3D editor and Display was there but not in the keyframer. After picking NULL which I didn't think would help because I wanted to render a FLI I went back to the keyframer picked Renderer/Setup/Render and now Display was there set to NULL. I pick it and I could choose other options. But if I pick reset the only way I can get back the display option is to go through the obove again. Is it suposed to be that way? I found the part in the manual for this setting and it doesn't say anything about haveing to set it in the editor first. What version of 3DS is the current one? I've had problems before getting a old version from this dealer. And could this be why it's not the same? Andy
