Jack…Hmmm, I never tried the Texel on the PAS16 but what you say makes sense. I never liked the swiss army knife approach, anyway. The right tool for the right job. Be seeing you. -Larry

So far I've heard varying theories as to why it's slower off the PAS, but the only thing I can say for sure is that every time I've tried it both ways it holds up. I do give MediaVision credit, though, for providing a standard SCSI port at all, which certainly will attract more people into the SCSI world. Compare it to Creative Labs, whose proprietary SoundBlaster ports are designed to do the opposite of SCSI and restrict what can be connected.

Jack…I don't know about the architecture of the PAS but it would seem that the bottleneck would be the bus interface. I agree that MediaVision made a good decision including the SCSI over some proprietary interface. Even with my Trantor it's nice to know that I have a spare port should I need it. The real bonus for me was the joystick port.
