Wish list: – capability to specify color cycling for any tool – to be able to specify cel frame number for each of the tiles in a tiling – to be able to assign macros to keys – recursive macros – to be able to increment to next color in a cluster (for use in a macro)

Ed, Thanks for your Wishlist items for AAPro. Could you give me a little more info? "…capability to specify color cycling for any tool…" What would be an application of this feature? Sometimes the programmers can come up for a solution for a problem with a different implementation. If they know what the desired effect is, they can perhaps make a better implementation. Nik

You might want to use color cycling with SEPARATE, for example. That would be useful in cases where color changes from frame to frame. Examples: – clouds, as the sun sets – hair, as it is gradually dyed – skin, as it sunburns – a tomato, as it ripens – leaves, going from summer to fall

Nik, Another nice feature (available in some products already) would be to have Animator automatically compute the changes necessary to go from one palette to another over a series of frames. (The whole palette might not change, just some of the color slots.) This would do some of Ed's effects. Sometimes a fixed palette is better, sometimes this would be a good effect. Eg., it could give you a smoother nightfall. On the other hand, palette changes are problematic under Windows and in presentations with other image sources. Chuck Jameson Silver Tongue Software

This can already be done in AniPro. One way is by using Blend (in the Value menu) over [T]ime. – J

So right you are, Blend over time. I checked the manual, but it didn't jump out at me. And, If you are restricting yourself to a single palette, I guess you could do this and go back and map the flc to that palette (which would cure some the palette flashing in Windows applications). This should move Ed Kellerman along with his sun-burn simulations without waiting for the next release. Chuck Jameson Silver Tongue Software

You got it. On page 4-10 there's a list of palette functions that work over time. When Animator first came out, one of our beta sites submitted a beautiful animation of falling leaves that change colors with the season– all using Blend over time. – J
