Fractal Landscape Flight

Hi, I uploaded this question last night, but didn't receive a cc, so I'm not sure if it went out at all. So…. How can I create a scrolling landscape with a horizon that doesn't disappear?? If I create a "landing strip" type landscape (long and thin, and slightly wider than the camera's FOV) I find that the horizon approaches very rapidly. In order to get flight over a detailed fractal landscape for the length of time I need, (4 mins) I would need a VERY long strip!! I've tried fractalising a tube & sphere, but in all these animations, the mountains seem to roll up out of nowhere – you get the feeling of a massive boulder bearing down on you. Should I experiment further with Distance Cue & FOV or is there a decent method that anyone knows about?? Thanks, Andy Roberts.
