#CDROM DRIVERS in DOS 6.0
6 messages in this thread
Whats the deal with CDROM drivers under DOS 6? My system works fine with DOS
6, except it won't recognize the CDROM drive. I have the latest MSCDEX that
came with DOS6 installed. What's the deal? Sony won't return calls. Help!
Any ideas? BEAU
Beau:
It is my understanding that you do not _have_ to use the new MSCDEX 2.22
provided with DOS 6.0. I'd suggest trying the old 2.21 version in your new
configuration. If that works (and the problem may be in your drivers not
recognizing the new MSCDEX), then go with it. Newer is not always better.

Rich,
I'm experiencing the same problem with my Chinon CDROM and DOS 6.0 upgrade.
I've tried the old AND the new device drivers and I get the same message for
bothe when it hits the MSCDEX in the Autoexec.Bat. Wrong DOS version.
Any ideas???

Perhaps you need to include setver.exe in your config.sys ?
Dan,
Thanks for the tip.
I'll try it as soon as I logoff.

Tony

Which version of MSCDEX are using when having the difficulties?
