recordable CD $

I would be interested in knowing the lowest prices ( and sources ) that others
have been able to find for write once optical media (CD). My local pro audio
dealer is selling the 63 minute discs for $35.00 ea, and I wonder if better
prices are available.
Kodak 63 minute media is available at $25 list from Kodak or see dataDisc ads
for the Kodak media at $19. See the KODAK CD forum.
Dunno what brand or quantity you are getting them in, but I understand my
company is buying 74 minute Taiyo-Yuden (spelling is wrong for sure) for
something slightly less than that ($32?), but we buy in qty 100 at least.
Check out Ricoh (they make a sturdy disc), and JVC (they are coming out with
some media pretty soon, as I understand from the recent Intermedia show). 3M
too. Get a small quantity of different medias and check out which seem to work
best.
I'd stick with 74 minute discs though, unless your target platform can't cope
with them. For the price difference between 63 and 74, it doesn't make sense
to try to keep stock levels of both discs, or to not make use of the additional
capacity offered by the 74 minute discs.
