Since Commodore is now GONE… I wonder which platform the Video Toaster will port to next (POWER MAC, IBM, SGI, Raptor, Screamer). I own a A4000 and VT4000. I've had an IBM for 3 years with no major service problems yet. I hopefully can expect the same healthiness from my Amiga. Buy the time my Amiga/Toaster goes south it'll make me enough money to buy a 3rd generation POWER MAC or SGI machine. I'm not at all worried….!!!!

So what exactly do you do with your Amigas? I am getting out of the service (Army) and after doing some contract work in the middle east, I _was_ looking forward to having enough spare capital to get the VT and try to make money… from what little I do know about making money with broadcast quality animations and/or edited video, the Amiga platform is the only _cheap_ way to do this kind of work with a high standard of quality. Can you tell me if I'm wrong in this assumption? Also, I had a guy over in the A-user forum ride me pretty hard for being ludicrous enough to even suggest that NewTek could buy key parts of C=. Don't know – I think it's a pretty neat fantasy/idea. Heck, between all the BIG 3rd party companies involved with the Amiga, surely there is the 'potential' for some kind of consortium with enough $ and interest in working together for a common cause… I'm sure some of those 3rd parties will be in an 'all or none' situation pretty soon. I'd still like to get into the video/animation business, but from what I've seen with PCs and Macs, well… let's just say a corporal in the Army doesn't make enough for his wife not to notice the kind of $ I'd need to go that route.
