Hi. MicroSoft basic (AmigaBasic) is vastly superior to ABasiC (in my humble opinion). I don't know about "lameware"…there are probably some on this BB who think that any Basic is "lameware". MS Basic will allow you to position the cursor prior to printing or inputting with the command LOCATE. You say LOCATE 20,10 which (oddly enough) means the cursor will be in the 20th row and 10th column. There is tons of stuff relating to moving Bobs and Sprites and determining collisions. You can get all sorts of information from the mouse. You can control the timbre of the music synth thru a wave command and in the SOUND command you actually set the frequency of the note(s) (e.g. A=440). You can also set the duration of the note(s) and some other stuff. All the editing is mouse-oriented and there are NO LINE NUMBERS. You can use labels for subroutines, etc. All of this is amazing to an ex-AppleSoft Basic user although I suppose it's old hat to Macintosh people. And the manual, if you can find one, is very good. You'll love it.
