I am trying to use AAWIN to play a full screen animation on an ATI Ultra graphic card. It does not work! It plays fine if I do not use the full screen option or using a different graphica card. Does any body know about this problem? Any help is appreciated! Best regars, Paul Chen

"AAWIN to play a full screen animation on an ATI Ultra" Check the size of your AAVGA.DLL file – I believe the old one is around 12k and the new one is 13k. If you have Multimedia Explorer, Disk One (not the CD, which has the old one) has a subdirectory \AAWIN with the latest player. If you don't have this DLL, see if downloading NEWPLA.ZIP helps. Nik

Nik, I have tried to use both version of the AAVGA.DLL. Same result: everything works fine until the full screen option is turn on (I was using the newest version already). Did you heard anybody with this kind of problem before with ATI Ultra Pro card? By the way, is there any licencing fee for using and bundling AAPLAY.DLL and VBPLAY.VBX in my software? I am planning to use them for my software development. Thank you very much for your help! Best regards, Paul Chen, Media Synergy

"By the way, is there any licencing fee for using and bundling AAPLAY.DLL and VBPLAY.VBX in my software?" No, there are no legal fees. If you need something in writing, you can ask Gail Penner at Autodesk: 415/332-2344. "everything works fine until the full screen option …with ATI Ultra Pro" I don't know what's happening here. I suspect that you will be able to run full screen if you run Windows with the 640x480x16 driver. If that is the case, then you might call ATI tech support. Our player and the AAVGA.DLL driver (they will want to know) writes to the hardware registers of the ATI card. I suspect that they've done something with the card which may make this a hardware issue, not a software-upgrade-will-fix-this issue. Good luck, and let us know. Nik

Nik, It turn out to be an ATI driver problem. I was using their driver when all hell break lose. After I switch to the standard Windows driver, it works fine. Thanks for your help. Paul
