Hi, Anybody knows the algorithm for creating smoke & Explosive? I have one solution for smoke, using fractal. Taken from book: Fractal & Computer Graphics … but it is too difficult for me. (there is some parameter I didn't understand) Can anyone gave me a simple one? 2-D is ok. 3-D is of course welcome too. Also I don't know how to make the explosive (should be not too difficult — right?), but I don't know the algorithms. Please post me some algorithms or just reference I can read. I realize there is no direct link my problem to any Autodesk products. But I think there must be some great programmers hanging around here. 🙂 << Sorry Jonas, hope you don't mind. >> Thanks in advance, Izak.

Izak, << Anybody knows the algorithm for creating smoke & Explosive? But I think there must be some great programmers hanging around here.:-) << Sorry Jonas, hope you don't mind. >> >> Nope. I hope you get some answers. In Computer Graphics, Principles and Practice Foley, vanDam, Feiner, Hughes pg 1031 discusses particle systems, smoke and explode. If you can dig up old Siggraph papers, I think you'd find "Particle Systems – a technique for Modeling a Class of Fuzzy Objects" Siggraph 83, 359-376 by W.T. Reeves" interesting. jonas[adesk]

If you want to make smoke and explosions the easy way, check out some IPAS demo flics in DL1. For smoke, look at VAPOR.ZIP, TRAIL2.ZIP, TRAILS.ZIP and SKDUDE.ZIP. For explosions, look at EXPLOD.ZIP and EXPLO2.ZIP. – G
