FinalWriter to Word

Hi! I have colleague who has to do some conversions from Amiga Final Writer to Word for Windows. Any suggestions on the best way to do it? Another question: If LHA (Amiga) is used to compress some files, can they be uncompressed by the IBM version? Finally, Is it possible to connect by null modem cable an Amiga to an ibm clone? The best way to go about this problem is to get hold of an IBM formatted disk (720k). Then get hold of CROSS DOS (or a similar program, there are similar programs in the libraries on CIS in the various Amiga sections). What Cross Dos does is allow you to read PC formatted disks in a standard amiga diskdrive. Put the PC disk in a drive that you have activated with cross dos, say the first drive. Then and save the file he wants to convert in an ASCII text, or generic text. Then copy open the window in workbench of the PC disk and the wiindow the file is saved under and copy it across. Then go to the PC and load it in as normal, using an ASCII or generic load option. A few characters are usually gone wrong, and the set up is usually up the pole but with a bit of sorting it should be alright. —Richard Daniel.

Angel, CrossDos is a commercial program and must be purchased from a dealer or directly from Consultron. It is also part of 2.1 and higher operating system.

Angel, CrossDos is a commercial program, so if you need it, you'll need to buy it from a software house. There are pd/shareware alternatives, either MLDOS1.LHA or MSDOS1.LZH in the System Utils library of AmigaTech (lib 11, I think). The Four Seasons of Southern California: Fire, Flood, Earthquake, and Riot.
