Help! I have a GVP 2000 HC8+/2 and a 90 MB HD with two 43MB partitions. I was trying to install a new program (ArtExpressions) to one of the partitions when I received a GURU. When I rebotted, I received the formidable message "Drive Not Validated" and "Key 48257 Bad Header Type." I tried accessing the GVP files on my hard drive to find out what to do, but they didn't help much–mostly said "See your manual for details." When my dealer installed the hard card, he didn't give me a manual! I have backed up my data with Quarterback, so hopefully if I have it (the drive) reinitialized, I can get the data back. Can someone walk me through what I need to do to re-validate the disk? Thanks. ===Ken Roberts

Since you have a backup, the easiest way, by far, is to format the drive and restore the files from the backup. There are several utilities that can be used to fix up disks with problems, but for the most part, they require an inimate knowledge of the structure of the disk directories, and this is not conducive to explanation on a general basis. -larry
