#NewTek here?

Bruce,
Ah, but you see, I have no NewTek questions other than "Is there someone at
your company I could contact regarding a potential area of development for your
product in the wake of Commodore's demise?"
NewTek does not have an internet Email address, and to my knowledge has no
official representation in this forum. If you would like to discuss product
development ideas, feel free to contace Kenbe Goertzen (Director of Product
development) via phone @ (913) 228-8000…fax @ (913) 228-8252 or PMail (the
old paper US-Snail kind).

NewTek Product Development
P.S. This is the first time I've managed to log into this forum, and I'm not a
very frequent CServe user. Also, being involved in new product development, I
am not real familiar with the current problems/solutions of our user base, and
have no official 'party line' information. I'll try to log in every week or
two anyway and answer what I can.
It's nice to see someone from NewTek actually sign on here. A long time
ago, there was regular representation here, but the users have kept the
section going without NewTek's help for far too long. Thanks for coming
in.

What is this about NewTek not even monitoring their own forum. Makes you wonder
if CBM and NewTek deserved each other…Businesses which do not
monitor users comments are doomed.
In the past week or so, one of their reps has been coming online.

NewTek has a signed contract to provided customer support in this forum.
Speak with Bob Anderson about it or perhaps the time has come to have that
contract cancelled for non-compliance.

I have no official comment on any contract commitments, but I'll mention
something to Bob, but I think Chris is now in charge of such things….
Please note that the user I.D. above is different than on my previous messages
(Personal vs Corperate account) but is the same me.
I'd like to see our users get the kind of support from NewTek I like to see
from a company when I buy something.

Charles,
The User ID that CompuServe gave to NewTek as per contract is 76004,3350. You
might see who is using it as someone is and it sure isn't being used for
customer support.
Charles is a famous guy! He's the nerdy television technician often seen in
50s-ish segments in the NewTek demo tapes. He's the primary resident hardware
wizard at NewTek.
John,
Hmmm … well, ya see, I've never seen a NewTek demo tape.
Yowza! A real-live honest to goodness demo-reel star! Cool!

The user ID has been in use here at NewTek. The problem with official support
seems to have been due to a desire among certian individuals to controll the
information flow out of NewTek. In other words, if you wern't one of a VERY
sellect group of people, you were not 'authorized' to spread the NewTek gosple
online. These people (who will remain unnamed) are now no longer controlling
policy (or even with the company), and things are getting around to being
fixed. I would look for some official presence here in the near future by the
Tech Support department, which is I think as it should be. Once we get several
people loging in on a fairly routine basis, the here today….gone tomorrow
syndrome will hopefully become a thing of the past.

NewTek
Charles,
Great News! Thanks.
Charles,
I have been on-line since the days of RAD MOOSE.
You will find a strong core of Toaster users here. All willing to
exchange ideas, techniques, information, and simple technical support.
We missed NewTek's direct support, but got use to it. This is not the
first time Steve has stated the CIS Venders contract. I would not like to
go through yet another period of "We're Back!", and find a few months
later "They're Gone Again".
If NewTek can find someone on staff who would like to join our group,
someone into BBSs, that would be great.
Why, he/she may even learn something!

Joe,
Yes … I really don't want to get CompuServe to cancel the contract with
Newtek. I'd rather Newtek fulfill the agreement and be active online.
However, even without NewTek participation, until there is a dedicated
DeskTop Video Forum that will cater to not only Toaster users but to all
platforms, this section has become, entirely due to committed users, THE
place to share DTV information.
-sja
Steve,
There is a DTV Forum in CEForum.
———————————————-Don- via Whap!
No, there is a DTV message section.
Steve,
It is this section, that keeps me online with CIS — and yes it is
entirely due to the users, which is why I feel apart of this SIG.
If you recall when Bob was assigned as online support it was after a
period of 'NewTek rumor'. After he stated that he wanted users to call
direct for technical support, he disappeared. We did not even see any
direct NAB news reports!
This time around it is not through ill-rumor that this forum has been
brought to the attention of NewTek. So perhaps the next guy will be into
this, and not just here for damage control.
