#Toaster Colors?

John, Here's a question for you. I have two Toaster systems and would like to know if there is anyway to have them share the same setup. To clarify, Is there a file that I can copy from one machine to the other that will give my Toasters the same color set-up like Auto Hue or Background Mattes? If so, this would be alot easier than tearing up my edit bay just to swap Toasters for Auto Hue. Any suggestions that you may have would be greatly appreciated. Stan, From what I was told by NewTek, AutoHue actually times the Toaster board to the Amiga it is in and has nothing to do with external video/sync. So you would not want to use the settings from one machine on another. Joe Maulucci >>> Accadia Electronic Arts Buffalo, New York

What, exactly, do you want to match? If you want to match Background Mattes, there is a handle on that through the ARexx port. The Toaster is capable of generating 4096 different color backgrounds, providing you communicate WHICH background through an ARexx message. PreVue Technologies makes a control panel that does just this, in real time. If, OTOH, you want to match framebuffers, there is some control via an underground hardware tweak. It matches DV2 to DV1. The newer Toaster 4000 boards are controllable through a pop-up menu on the interface screen. Again, what do you want to match? ___ /__) ,_ _ _ _/__) / /__/ /_ /_-'

How is the pop-up configuration screen used to match DV1 to DV2 ??? (I assume you're talking about the Ralt-Rshift-F10 screen ?? Thanks, Jerry

There is no individual over DV1 and DV2. The same control adjusts both frame buffers simultaniously. Sorry. Charles Steinkuehler

The matching of DV1 to DV2 is done purely in hardware by soldering a bias resistor directly to your Toaster board. This, of course, violates warranties and risks some real damage to your Toaster if done improperly. The fix was developed for the original Toaster and hasn't been verifed for the new Toaster.
