#Prob with IM anim
3 messages in this thread
I'm trying to create an animation using your multi-frame function, using
some Toaster4000-generated RGB frames. When I try to play back the anim,
using ViewTek, the palette seems to go funny. The first frame is fine, but
subsequent frames seem to have little glitches of bright green running
through them (with no bright green used in the original picture).
I'm using IM 1.06. I've tried keeping same palette, generating new one. Is
it an IM problem, or should I use a different viewer? I tried loading it
into DPaint IV, but it curled up its toes.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
SOunds like each frame has a different pallette. This would both cause DPaint
to choke and possibly glitch anims. Lock your palette by changing to "use
existing palette" after loading frame #1. (There may be a better way. I don't
know if IM can optimize palettes for an anim.)

Barbara,
An easy test is to reload one of the animation frames back into IM R/t..
just select the anim and pick a frame that shows an error when ViewTek
plays it back. if IM R/t shows the error, it's a real error. If not, It's
a viewtek problem.
